The decanter centrifuge is in the last place of the solid control system, which can control drilling fluid density availably, and can clean damage solid phases, which is important for drilling activity.Firstly, the thesis introduced basic structure and work principle of the decanter centrifuge, involved in four flow theories inside the decanter centrifuge, and accordingly four theoretical disposal formulas are introduced too.Secondly, the theoretical disposal formula based of residue is analyzed and understood, and making unchanged disposal as object function, an optimum design is made between the drilling fluid density and the rotate speed of the drum, which is useful for centrifuge design.Thirdly, theoretical stress analysis of the drum is made, and a finite element stress and model analysis of LW500×1200 basket is made too. The result shows that the drum intension satisfied the demand, and sympathetic vibration will not happen in normal rotate speed. Comparing the real situation, the decanter centrifuge of this type meets the safe demand.Finally, making LW500×1200 decanter centrifuge as study object, and the drum total mass lightest as object function, a useful try of modifying the centrifuge drum designation is made in the presupposition of satisfying intension demand.
