Recently, clean production has been in rapid and wide progress all over the world. It is considered as a principal approach for promoting the fashion-transfer of economy development and pollution prevention & treatment, improving the utilization efficiency of resources and energy, reducing the discharge of pollutants, establishing the mode of modern industrial production and realizing the development sustainable and harmonizing of environment and economy. For ammonia-synthesizing with high energy-cost and pollution, clean production aiming at energy-serving, cost-decreasing and pollution-reducing always is the important issue impelling firms' technology progress. However, what firm focus on is how to assess or predict the economic, environmental and social effect of its clean production.With cost-benefit analysis usually used in economical effect prediction of industrial item, this thesis made economic, environmental and social assessments of three transforms of ammonia-synthesizing unit in Jianfeng Fertilizer Plant. The transforms include regenerator reflux condensate pipes, steam surface-condensator of synthesis-gas compressor and preheator of boiler feed water. The assessments were made in every aspects including direct, indirect, material and invaluable influence. Quantification was made on what can be represented by money, and characterization was made on what cannot.Firstly, the development course of clean production and ammonia synthesiswas introduced. Secondly, the possibility and necessity of transform furthermore was analyzed combing with three items of clean production transform in ammonia-synthesizing unit, and the result after transform was assessed. Finally, the impact of economic, environmental and social was assessed with cost-benefit analysis.With cost-benefit analysis in which only one indicator, net present value is adopted, integrated assessment cannot be made with important economic indicators, such as payback time and utilization efficiency of capital. Therefore, new indicators including annual net cash flow, static payback period, net present value rate and internal rate of return were supplemented, and more sufficient assessment on economic result of transform was obtained. The assessment in this paper not only provided a set of systematical methods on clean production improving its research methodology, but also provided help for other industry, so the result of this study had value to spread.The assessments showed that clean production improved utilization efficiency of resources, which generates great economic, environmental and social benefits, so that it realizes the harmony between all of the three aspects, and creates conditions for sustainable development of our enterprise.
