Flow Field Of Gate Agitator

The domestic and overseas research on flow field in agitated tank is summarized and some questions to be further studied are pointed out. , LDV of TSI is used to measure the flow field in an agitated tank of 0.39m in diameter with an agitator of gate type. The effects of the laser beam penetrating the transparent circular wall of the tank on locations of controlled body and measuring point are analyzed using geometrical andthe optical principles, and error analysis is also made for themeasurement.The time-averaged velocity field and fluctuating velocity field are obtained. The effects of baffles, the diameter and rotating speed of agitator, and the distance from agitator to tank bottom on the flow field are studied. The numerous experimental data and the detailed analyses on the flow field of gate agitator presented in this paper would give good reference to the research on flow field in agitated tank, and also to the development and optimization of agitators of new type.
