Fume monitoring is an important instrumentality for monitoring the concentrationof air contamination and monitoring the gaseous pollutant. FCS (Fieldbus ControlSystem) is a new generation of integrated distribution control system and has became thedirection of the development of control system. This paper primarily describes thehardware design and software program of a fume monitoring instrument based onWorldFIP fieldbus technology,which is designed to incorporating fume monitoring intoFCS(Fieldbus Control System). The contents of paper contains the brief introduction ofFCS(Fieldbus Control System),the master plan of the instrument,the problems andsolution during the programming,the design of the hardware circuit,the development ofthe drive program and how to realize the communication between intelligentmeasurement instrument and fieldbus. In the part of the hardware circuit design, moduleof image acquisition,CPU module ,module of communication with WorldFIP,powermodule and selection of the main element are described in detail. the software programpart gives a introduction of image acquiring and processing,communication betweenintelligent instrument and WorldFIP fieldbus and the programming of LCD. The last partof this paper gives a prospect about the improvement and perfection of this fumemonitoring instrument.
