The research about thirty years overseas showed the earth's surface runoff has played an important role on surface water pollution. After the effective controlling of the point sources pollution, the significance of this impact will be more obvious, some harness techniques fit for the situation of our country must be adopted. It is one of simple, effective ecological techniques that truncating and disposing Non-point source urban pollutions by making use of percolation function of soil.In this paper, little-scale experiment was carried out in laboratory by using rapid infiltration land treatment system with artificial soil, coupling with EM technique, based on national '863' project for improving and synthesis demonstrating water environment quality in Suzhou. The main contents in the paper can be summarized as below: (1) Water quality survey of surface runoff in Suzhou; (2) Composing test of artificial soil; (3) The influence of pollution removal efficiency whether adding EM to the simulation system. (4)The influence of pollution removal efficiency and mechanism analyses if adjusting soil depth, the quantity of EM, hydraulic loading period. The study indicates: It will improving the removal efficiency of pollutants evidently by adding EM to system; The removal efficiency of all kinds of pollutants will be better when soil depth is 70cm, the appending quantity of EM rejuvenation is 1500ml/m2, hydraulic loading period is 24h; The influence factors for removal efficiency sorting by priority are hydraulic loading period, the appending quantity of EM rejuvenation, soil depth. This little-scale experiment study provides the preference data for project to control Non-point source pollutants with artificial soil rapid infiltration system coupling with biological technique (EM technique).
