The gradually increased gas explosion accidents in underground coal mines of china are seriously threatening the lives of mining workers, restraining the development of mining production and bringing about heavy burden to coal enterprises. The gas explosion is so frequent, but there is not any technique which can completely stop the gas explosion whether it has all three explosion elements. So it is important signification to find the bester explosion control material and technology. Based on the building gas explosion experiment system by self, high speed photography is adopted in this paper to study the flame transmission characteristic in the first stage of gas explosion and the effect of control gas explosion by using inert nanometer powder and carbon dioxide inert gases. The result of experiments not only validated the feasibility of gas explosion experiment system in theory, but also tested the control gas explosion capability and effect of material that we have selected. Inert nanometer powder can control gas explosion. Carbon dioxide inert gases can availably control and the control gas explosion mechanism has analyzed in brief. The experiment results in this paper show that when the concentration of carbon dioxide inert gases has exceed 21% in the normal temperature and pressure, the explosion mix gas can not explosion even the gas have the three explosion elements. The building and debug applying of explosion experiment system and the success of the carbon dioxide inert gases controlling gas explosion provide a base for more studying on the gas explosion control materials and technologies.
