In recent years, with the development of the high-tech industry, the research work about the properties and the applications of heavy alkali metal and their compounds are continuous lucubrate, especially in biochemistry, molecular biology, environmental chemistry. Specificially, example for the structure of heavy alkali metal cesium compounds are important to explore the potential template role in organization of biorelevant ligands. In the first part of this dissertation, the basic knowledge of analytical method, application, physiological function and complexity function of the heavy alkali metal cesium are introduced and reviewed. In the second part of this dissertation, the new cesium complexes cesium aspartate, cesium phthalate, dicesium terephthalate, cesium 5-sulfosalicylate, cesium 3,5-dinitrosalicylate and cesium 2,4-dinitrophenoxide monohydrate were synthesized by the neutralization reaction between the bio-relevant organic compounds and CsOH aqueous solution. Their physicochemical properties were characterized by the Elemental Analysis, FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy and XRD. The crystal structures of those new cesium compounds, which are suitable for X-ray diffraction analysis, have been determined. The unit-cell parameters were listed below: Cesium phthalate was orthorhombic with space group Pca2i and unit-cell parameters of a= 1.0659(5) nm, b=l .2768(6) nm, c=0.6556(3) nm. Dicesium terephthalate was monoclinic with space group P21/n and a=0.8585(6) nm, b= 1.7491(13) nm, c=0.9895(7) nm, 0=91.089(10)°. Cesium 5-sulfosalicylate was monoclinic with space group P2j/c and a=0.9682(3) nm, b=0.7317(2) nm, c=l.4358(4) nm, p=90.641(4)°. cesium 3,5-dinitrosalicylate was monoclinic with space group P21/c and a=0.7710(2) nm, b=0.7387(2) nm, c=l.7644(5) nm, P=95.920(4)° and cesium 2,4-dinitrophenoxide monohydrate was monoclinic with space group P21/c and a=0.58412(ll) nm, b=2.1715(2) nm, c=0.76285(15) nm, (3=95.920(4)°. The bond lengths of these compounds between the metal atom and the oxygen atom are varied in a wide range. The coordinate numbers of each cesium atom in these compounds are different. The coordination sphere around the metal cesium atoms is quite irregular and appears to be governed solely by electrostatic and steric effects. The result obviously shows that large alkali-metal cesium cations have very...
