Purifying quartz sand is the most difficult separation technic that eliminate the few and trace of impurities of quartz sand to produce high purity quartz. This technic is the most effective way to ease the lack of nature crystal material and satisfy the advancing demand to the high level quartz used in high technology, it is vital to promote our nation's economic constructionThe experimental material is from the quartz mine at Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. This article studies the effect of static separation, high-frequency dielectrical separation, high-intension magnetic separation, flotation and acid processing etc. in the production of high purity quartz and submits the classic industrial flow.This article proves it is possible to produce ultra-fined high purity quartz produce by ultra-fmely crashing the raw material before separation, this technic not only avoid pollute the quartz again at the separation but also simplified the industrial flow.In order to eliminate the impurities in the raw material, we have experimented the static separation, high-frequency dielectrical separation, high-intension magnetic separation and flotation etc., they show the flotation is the most effective way to remove the Al2O3. Compared the flotation with hydrofluoric acid and the flotation without hydrofluoric acid, the result is near. Considering the hydrofluoric acid is harmful to the environment, so we chose the flotation without hydrofluoric acid as the technic to remove the Al2O3 at last. At flotation without hydrofluoric acid, the rate of removing Al2O3 can reach 68.17% and the content of Al2O3 in the refined production can be reduce to 0.008%.Study the effect of magnetic separation and acid processing in the separation of removing the impurities involved iron. The experiments show the acid processing can remove the impurities involved iron effectively. Compared the result of acid processing the raw material and the refined produce of magnetic separation, the content of the TFe can be reduced to 0.0006% equally. In order to simplify the industrial flow and reduce the produce cost, we can get ride of the magnetic separation and process the raw material by acid directly.The experiment reveals that the virtue of mixed acid is prior to the single acid. The optimized mixed acid is mixed by muriatic acid and oxalic acid according to 1:1 and the best dosage of mixed acid is 30kg/t. Under the common condition (20癈), we can achieve the well result after acid processing 2 hours but get the better result after acid processing 30 minutes only. Furthermore, ultrasonic also can accelerate the speed of acid processing and strengthen the effect of acid processing.The u ltra-fined p owder o f q uartz p rocessed b y t he flotation w ithout h ydrofluoric acid, and the refined ore of flotation without hydrofluoric acid processed by mixed acid, thus we can produce the high purify quartz production I in the end. The content of SiO2 of the production can reach 99.98%, the content of TFe can be reduced to 0.0003% and the content of Al2O3 be reduced to 0.006%. This result accord the criterion of high purify quartz; the tailor of flotation can be produce quartz production 11 by processing by mixed acid, the production II 's content of SiO2 is 99.63%, the content of TFe is 0.0018%, the content of Al2O3 is 0.086%, so it can be applied in the industries of constructing dopes and plastics.
