The method of in-situ generating nano-dispersion phase is one of the most important ways to prepare the nano-composite based on elastomer matrix. In this thesis, a series of research on zinc methacrylate in-situ polymerization-reinforcing POE composite (ZDMA/POE) were carried out.Firstly, the mechanism of forming nano-dispersion phase through zinc methacrylate in-situ polymerization and microstructure of the composite were analyzed by means of various measures such as TEM, SEM, DSC, DMA and extraction by solvent. It was revealed that the particle size of ZDMA was not decreased remarkably by mixing process. At the beginning of reaction, ZDMA monomer diffused rapidly into POE matrix, which was accelerated by its in-situ polymerization. The final conversion of ZDMA was more than 90 percent and nano-composite with super distribution was obtained.Secondly, the study on recipe and processing technology of ZDMA/POE was conducted. The tensile property of the composite prepared by the best recipe and process condition was much higher than that of POE filled by carbon black. The average size of ZDMA particles before cure was the main key to control final properties of the composite. The relationship between microstructure of the composite and loading of ZDMA or peroxide was acquired through a series of TEM observation.Thirdly, the stress-strain character and temperature dependence of tensile strength of the composite were investigated, and were compared with that of carbonblack reinforcing composite. The strain-stress curves of ZDMA/POE and carbon-black/POE were different. The strength ofZDMA/POE was contributed mostly by orientation of composite's microstructure at the final stage of strain-stress, and it decreased greatly at high temperature.Finally, the microstructure of nano dispersed phase, mechanism of nano-reinforcement and relationship between microstructure and properties were discussed in detail.
