Experimental Study Of The Simple Landfill Mining Project

The general MSW landfills which were put into use in the 1980' are always at the edge of cities in China, and most of them are simple waste landfills. These simple waste landfills have potential environmental and safety troubles to the surroundings, and most of them will hinder the improvement of the city. So, from the view of reutilization, it is necessary to research and develop methods in point to reutilize stabilized waste based on the facts in our country. The research will benefit to the recovery and disposal of the existed simple waste landfill, and it will provide experience to the design of new MSW landfills. This paper studies the mining of simple waste landfill and the basic characters, the nutritional elements, heat value and heavy metal content of the old waste and the screened materials. The possibilitiy of the reutilization of simple waste landfill has been analyzed, and the method how to reutilize has been introduced.The result shows that the main composition of the first screening oversize products is plastics, geotextiles, etc. And it has high heat value. According to the limit of the design and the equipment of the incineration plant, it can't be put into waste incineration plant directly. So the first screening oversize products are suggested to be incinerated by mixed with fresh waste. The second screening oversize products are planed to be disposed in landfill nearby after rescreening. The remainder of oversize products can't be used for farm field, but they can be used as the garden soil, high contaminated capability soil with high context value and farms nearby mine plant (except kailyard).The research about simple waste landfill mined old waste reutilization will not only help the old waste to be reused, but make the landfill land reused. The benefit of society, environment and economic will be achieved at the same time.
