The poultry feeding industry plays an important role in economy and agriculture, and it isdeveloping step by step in scale and industrialization in China. At the same time, a great dealof livestock manure leads the environment pollution, and become a factor that blocks thepoultry feeding industry development. Therefore, it is important that researches on how todeal with livestock manure are being carried out and developed. At present, it has obtained a good result in reduction for disposal livestock manure byusing bio-toilet in Japan. This technique has an evident characteristic that can disposal a greatdeal of livestock manure from poultry feeding in time. Not only achieved evident effect ofreduction, but also made livestock manure utilized. This paper researched on the treatment of cattle manure with the bio-toilet presented byJST in Japan. The sawdust, the mixture of the sawdust and cornstalk, the corn stock were usedthe bulking agents. In order to study on whether using the cornstalk replaces with the sawdustas bulking agent. During the experiment, Changes in temperature,moisture, organic matter,C/N and pH with time were investigated and discussed their tendency in process. At the sametime, the caloric values were determined, the changes of the caloric values of materials werestudied, and the spectroscopic changes of materials were investigated in FT-IR, so thatexplained the bacterium decomposed the organic matter of materials in reacting process.Experiments result showed that, during process, the temperature of materials remained50-60℃, the moisture content was maintained within the range of 40%-70% , the organicmatter were decreased from above 90% to about 50% by the bacterium. The reduction of wetweight were more than 70%. On the other hand, analyzing of caloric values and FI-IRspectroscopy of materials showed that treatment of cattle manure with different bulking agent,but getting a resemble effect. These results suggested that cornstalk was suitable for treatinglivestock manure as bulking agent. So it is feasible that using cornstalk as bulking agent to treat livestock manure insequential fed. This technique not only reduces the pollution livestock manure, but also buildsthe best mode of pollutant treatment of poultry feeding mostly.
