Precision CRF (Cold Roll Forming) is a kind of non-cutting technology, which integrates the metal plastic forming and rolling forming. Compared with traditional cutting processing method, it has many advantages such as high production efficiency, high process precision, and high bearing capacity. It is of theoretical meaning and application value to study technology and equipment of precision CRF of spline in order to make this technology to be made in our country. According to metal plastic deformation theory and theory of engagement, the analysis of involute spline CRF forming technics is carried through in this paper. Based on which, the deformation type of involute spline CRF and the rule of metal flow in the course of CRF are educed, and the formulae for calculating forming force, thrust of hydraulic pressure urn and supporting force of orbit are presented. According to the principle of cold roll forming and to assure the request of high precision and high efficiency in the process of cold roll, a design project of cold roll forming machine is put forward in this paper. Based on the study on the technology and calculation of forming force of spline, the analysis of load component of every work situation in the course of component forming is carried through in this paper. A hydraulic pressure system is designed and the performance analysis of this system is analyzed. Since the request of spline precision is high, in order to assure the tolerance of column of the spline, two dies must be kept parallel in the process, namely to assure the coherence of distortion of the machine frame when it is bore reaction. Aimed at the above problems, in this paper, the FEM software ANSYS is used to calculate the 3D deformed distribution of the cold roll forming machine frame, slide seat and die. Combined with calculation results, machinery parameters were adjusted and the design scheme is mended. The establishment of 3D entity model and the export of 2D engineering drawing are accomplished based on MDT at the end of this paper.
