Porous Alumina template has been fabricated by two-step anodic oxidation. The pattern and mechanism of porous Alumina template has been investigated by XRD,TEM,AFM. Influence of two-step anodic oxidation on the anodic aluminium oxide template (AAO) and electropolish had been studied. Expermental results show that the AAO templates have an amorphous structure. The diameter of templates is about 30-40 nm. Compared with one-step method, two-step method could get ideally ordered pore arrays easily. The templates contains high density holes which were parallel each other and the hole apertures were the same. The pore diameter is controllable according to practical needs. Nickle, Cobalt and Alumina arrays has been prepared by direct current deposition using two-step anodic oxidation template. XRD,TEM,VSM were exployed to study the morphology and magnetic performance of it. Expermental results show that the arrays were composed of nanowires that were polycrystals metal and amorphous alumina. The length of nanowires is about 3-7 μm. Nanowires were continuous and had the unique diameter about 30-40 nm which is same as the pore diameter of AAO template. The diameter of nanowires can be controlled by changing the voltage and temperature of the electrolyte in the anodic oxidation. The length of nanowires canbe controlled by electrodeposited time. Co and Ni nanowires were fabricated by electrodeposited. They have some very special magnetic properties, the most important of the these magnetic properties is their unusual preferred magnetization direction. Different from many usual magnetic films, their preferred magnetization direction is perpendicular to the film plane of the metal membranes. The new features of these nanowires should lead to a broad technological and scientific application in many fields: optical devices, sensor devices, electrodes, filtration, especially in magnetic recording system.
