Each additive is added in a particular way to the highly reactive absorbent prepared from fly ash and lime to prepare "Oxygen-rich"absorbent. A duct injection system is employed to find the absorbent with best desulphurization and denitration performance, which is subsequently used to simultaneously remove SO2 and NO from flue gas on a circulating fluidized bed. The influences of several operating parameters are studied. Under the optimal operating conditions, the removal efficiencies of 94.5% and 64.2% are achieved for SO2 and NO, respectively. Scanning Electron Microscope and X-ray EDS are employed to study the micro-area characteristics of fly ash, highly reactive absorbent and the spent absorbent. The products of SO2 and NO in the spent absorbent are further analyzed with chemical analyzing methods. The mechanisms of simultaneous removal of SO2 and NO are investigated in this paper.
