The thesis includes two parts: the first part is about the study on the constituents of Edgeworthia chrysantha; the second part is about the study on the constituents of Curcuma Wenyujin. The systematical phytochemical study on the flowers of Edgeworthia chrysantha (Thymelaeaceae) was described in the thesis. Eighteen compounds were isolated and purified from the ethanolic extract of the flowers by means of column chromatography (silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, MCI-gel), high-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC), recrystalization and etc. They were identified as: phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, organic acids, amino acids and steroids on the basis of modern spectroscopic methods (IR, UV, MS, 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR), along with comparison to authentic samples or the data in literatures and chemical methods. Among them, one is a novel compound and named edgeworic...
