Glass and plastic are several kinds of important materials in our daily life and we can see fogging and icing phenomena on the surface of these materials. For example, fog on the glasses can seriously reduces the transparence and greatly affects our sight and mist on the windowscreen could induce traffic accident. Another example is greenhouse. The greenhouse can increase humidity in the warm-house and enhance the vegetable output. But fog forming on the plastic can reduce the transparence and take from output. So many inconveniences and even great loss might be caused. In recent years, the progress in the study of optical resin has been made one after another hone and abroad with the development of optical industry and plastic industry. In these resin materials, polycarbonate is carefully chosen, as it is easy to be prepared. In addition, its high-impact strength, high thermosetting property, the stability of its size and its self-distinguishing properties also distinguish itself from other materials. However it is easy to be scratched in the process of transportation, cleaning and use. Furthermore, it couldn't inhabit fog on its surface, which directly affects the transparence and beauty. So research on abrasion resistance and anti-fog property of materials is important to our life. A few coating can modified and protect the substrate surface. If the anti-fogging and abrasion-resistance coating can solve the fogging question, it will bring huge economic benefit. Organic/inorganic composite have been the center of attention in the recent years. We can obtain the different composite by different organic/inorganic hybriding. Organic/inorganic composite for anti-fog has better storage-stability,abrasion-resistance and caking property. Organic materials and inorganic materials can composite by Sol-Gel method. The process needn't thermal molding, so it avoids organic molecule'decompose. At present, few paper on organic/inorganic hybrid materials based silica for anti-fog and abrasion-resistance are publication and many question aren't solved. DEA is small molecular weight polyhydric compound. It is atoxic, transparent substance and have better anti-fog property. But DEA don't act as anti-fog coating alone. Silicone painting has excellent abrasion resistance, transparent property and hardness. In the curing process, organo-silicone can form steady interface by reacting with glass's surface. Its 3D network that make DEA and other molecule wrap increases the stability. In the paper, the study on the gelation process of the anti-fog/abrasion resistant coatings of DEA-SiO2-KH560 inorganic-organic system was made by Sol-Gel method. Organic groups incorporate into the SiO2 network by bonding to the inorganic backbone. Homogeneous interpenetrating networks(IPNs) forms in the curing process. Organo-silicone enhances the membrane's hardness and DEA increases the anti-fog property. The coating can form a solidify abrasion-resistant layer and avoid fogging because of hydrophilic groups.
