Self-assembly of organic ligands and inorganic metal ions is one of the most efficient and widely used approaches for the construction of organic-inorganic composite materials. In this thesis, we wish to report a series of new type of rigid conjugated nanometer-sized fulvene ligands, cyclopenta[d][1,2]pyridazine-containing fulvene ligands, a series of novel symmetric or unsymmetric Schiff-base ligands with 1,4-benzodiazine as terminal coordination sites. The coordination chemistry of these novel ligands with transition metal ions was investigated. Totally 12 new organic-inorganic coordination polymers generated from those fulvene ligands and Schiff-base ligands have been synthesized. All new organic-inorganic coordination polymers were fully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, elemental analysis and TGA. In addition, luminescent properties, host-guest chemistry (namely, selective aromatic guest molecules adsorption properties) and conductivity properties of some new compounds have been investigated. A. The coordination chemistry of cyclopenta[d][1,2]pyridazine-containing fulvene ligands New type of cyclopenta[d][1,2]pyridazine-containing fulvene ligands L6-L10 were synthesized by the reaction of the 1,4-diketone group on simple fulvene ligands with NH2-NH2·H2O and ArNHNH2, respectively. Their coordination chemistry with "soft"Ag(I) metal ion was also investigated. Three new fulvene polymeric compounds, namely [Ag(L6)](ClO4)·1.5(C6H6) (1), [Ag(L6) ]SbF6 (2) and [Ag (L10) ](ClO4) ·(C6H6) (3), were synthesized. Compounds (1), (2) and (3) reported herein are organometallic polymers based on both Ag-N and Ag–C (Ag-π) coordination interactions. B. The coordination chemistry of Schiff-base ligands The coordination chemistry of symmetric Schiff-base ligands (L11 and L12),...
