Spatial Structure And Characteristics Of The Ecological Fragile Region In Western China

Close attention has been paid to the ecological fragile region in western China currently. For a long time, the fragile environment and behindhand economics of this region has brought huge encumbrance not only to the local social development, but also to the whole western region, even including the eastern flourishing region. This paper will carry out a penetrating, systematic research into the geographic distribution, the cause of the fragility of the environment, the current status and the economic characteristics of the economical fragile region in western China.First of all, the cause of fragile ecological region in western China includes two factors: the natural factor and the artificial factor. The bad ecological environment in the western region of our country is very conspicuous. The vile natural condition, hard condition for existence, weak infrastructure all lead to the bad living condition of the local people .For the sake of existence and development, in addition to some recent political trend lapses, human has excessively exploited the natural resources, which leads to more fragility of the bad ecosystem of the western region.Secondly, the distribution of the fragile ecological region inwestern China is much wide, in addition to multiple weak types , as a result, the districts can be divided into 4 different types according to its cause and the geographic distribution: Droughty area of northwest China, Upland area of southwest China, Limestone mountainous area of southwest China, Qingzang Plateau ecosystem. Because different districts have different natural conditions and dissimilar human' s activities, the cause of the fragile ecosystem and the resultant environment status both present their different characteristics.Lastly, the behindhand economy is an important reason for the environment aggravation of fragile ecological region in western China, on the other hand, it is also an inevitable outcome of the exasperate ecosystem environment. We can get 6 economic characteristics as a conclusion according to the local ecosystem environment, natural resources of the region, mankind production, life style etc. which has some fundamental values for the guideline of our afterward researches on the sustainable development of the economic society and the economy society of the fragile ecological region in western China...
