Laser machining is the important applied field of laser technology. Although incision, jointing and heat treatment by laser have been widely applied in many manufacture such as automobile, shipbuilding, aviation and general mechanical manufacture, it's the first that sheet metal are shaped by laser shock in the home. In order to adapt to market competition needs of rapid product update of the modern manufacture and to achieve sheet metal production needs, rapid, effective and low-cost, many researchers home and abroad have done lots of studies from multipoint, progressive forming to shot blasting forming, laser bending forming by thermal stress etc. And they have achieved some productions. It seems that it is the significant trend to get to shock forming of rapid, efficient, and flexible form the developmental aim. On the basic of analyzing researches about sheet metal forming without mould, our school teachers put forward a new concept firstly about shape change of sheet mental by laser shock forming (LSF) and having systemic studies in order to discover new method applied in the field of sheet metal.In order to implement Laser Shock Forming, it's very important to plan the forming technics and then achieve the shock routes in addition to understand the theory of laser Shock Forming and the sheet metal's character after being shocked. This thesis mainly based on the interplay between laser and substance, then set down forming technics so as to exploit computer simulative and control software for laser shock forming of large area. Also under the existing experiment condition, the experimentation of the deformation of sheet metal by laser shock was done at our university's laboratory. Because of the limit of the condition, we only conducted the planar experiments. To the specimen of LD31 or SUS304, the results of experimentation showed that these materials such as having adequate hardness, could be deformed by laser Shockwave if water act as the overlay and black oil paint serve as energy absorbed layer. The experiment also showed that measure of foming workpiece accorded with our demands in the light of the track file computered by controlled software. Results also provided information that it can reduce the roughness of the surface of sample and also decrease the zone of not being shocked by controlling the distance of every track and every point. That provided evidence for programming the controlled software father for laser shock forming.
