Cotton web cleaner with stationary flat mounts on the back plate of carding machine. Experiments for comparisons of the yarn quality were taken using three craft schemes, in order to get optimal guide plate length; choose between kirschner carding plate or saw-tooth carding plate; and get the optimal electrostatic voltage. (1) Other conditions invariable, comparison experiments using cotton web cleaner with guide plate length of 25mm, 60mm, and 95mm. The result shows it is advantageous to use guide plate length of 25mm. (2) Mount different components beneath taker-in a) small undercasing b) saw-tooth carding plate and small undercasing c) kirschner carding plate and small undercasing experiments for comparison with these three different configurations were taken. The result shows saw-tooth carding plate is advantageous to the removal of short-staple and improvement of yarn quality while taker-in rolls at low speed, (3) Measure the quality of card sliver by electrostatic absorb-fan mechanism at different voltage, and it shows that electrostatic plate with 4kv voltage is favorable for removal of short-staple,nep and impurity.
