Atomic fluorescence spectrometry is a new instrument analysis method first appeared in 1960's. AFS has merits of high selectivity, high sensitivity and wide linear dynamic range. The hydride generation technology was used in AFS in 1970's. Recent years, As an special analysis way it has been widely used for determination of hydride-forming elements because of its high selectivity and sensitivity, wide linear dynamic range, fast speed of analysis and ease of use.1. The determination of trace element bismuth in TCM and tea was studied using HG-AFS. Through optimized experiment, optimized instrumental parameters: lamp electrical current, photoelectric cell negative voltage, carrier gas flow and shielding gas flow were selected. Using the sample of Gynostemma pentaphyllum, I have considered the effect of different digested reagent. The effects of the medium amounts of acid and reducing agent on the determination of Bi were investigated. Through the determination of national standard material tea (GBW07605), the accurate of the method was tested. I determined the quantity of trace bismuth of different TCM and tea.2. As unnecessary trace elements, cadmium is one of the most toxic heavy metal elements and can't easily react with potassium tetrahydroborate in aqueous solution. But with the present of thiourea and cobalt ion, the generation efficiency of the volatile species of cadmium is greatly enhanced. In this paper, we established the method of fast determination of trace cadmium in TCM based on the found above mentioned. We optimized the operation parameters and reaction condition by experiment.3. A simple and rapid method for the simultaneous determination of trace bismuth and cadmium in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and tea by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HGAFS) associated with an online intermittent flow injection system was described. The instrumental condition was optimized and the effects of the acid medium and the amount of reducing agent on the determination were investigated. The effects of the coexisting elements were considered.4. There are different existing forms of arsenic in the nature and they have different toxicity. The main forms of inorganic arsenic in the nature are As(III) and As( V).Under different condition As(III) and As( V) can react with potassium tetrahydroborate so we established the method of determination of As(III) and As( V) respectively by HG-AFS. In this paper we optimized the instrumental parameters and reaction condition.
