Wastewater of water based cutting fluid discharged from mechanical processing mayresult in high quantity of organic chemicals in naturally water, which is harmful to thesurvival environment of the aquatic animal and plants, and reduces the value of the aquaticresource, if untreated. So far, many researches on the other type of wastewater have beencarried out, but the treatment of high concentration and emulsified wastewater has not beensolved well. The difficulty is that water based cutting fluid is more and more stable. And alot of reductive inorganic compound and surfactant can't be eliminated efficiently in thecourse of flocculation. Now seeking a kind of new and efficient flocculants which appliedinto disposing of water based cutting fluid is the key to solve the problem of high level ofthe CODcr of wastewater. In this paper,PSAF and starch graft copolymer with acrylamide were prepared, andapplication of treatment of water based cutting fluid wastewater was discharged. The studyresults showed that flocculation is the key to treat with emulsion wastewater. PSAF has theabilities of neutralizing electric charge and excellent flocculation. The optimum conditionsof preparation of PSAF has been confirmed in the paper. While starch graft copolymerwith acrylamide were prepared too, and effects on transfer ratio and graft efficiency werediscussed . Then PSAF compound and starch graft copolymeriztion with acrylamide asflocculation is used in the treatment of water based cutting fluid. At last the dosage offlocculants and pH value have been optimized by coagulation experiments and thetreatment technics were discussed. The experiment results show that when the chemosynthesis wastewater was disposedof with mixture of PSAF and starch graft copolymer, CODcr decreased form 23560mg/Lto 1865.3mg/L.The removal efficiencies of CODcr is 92.08%. When t the emulsionwastewater was disposed, CODcr decreased from 21892mg/L to 1284.5mg/L.The removalefficiencies of CODcr is 94.13%. If the disposed wastewater was treated with activecarbon, CODcr was down to 134.6mg/L,that was lower than 150mg/L the second levelNational quantity standard.
