In this thesis, six new novel p-tert-calix[n]arene(n=4,6,8) derivatives have been designed, synthesized and characterized, in which phosphorate are substituted on the lower rim of the calix[n]arenes. At the same time, application of the compounds in PVC membrane ion-selective electrode have been studied. The main results obtained are as follows.1. Six novel calix[n]arene phosphorate derivatives were designed and synthesized. All of them were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and ~1HNMR.2. The calix[n]arenes-mental ion complex formation constants in solventpolymetric membrane were determined directly by potentiometry with a two-layer sandwich membrane electrode. Six ion selective electrodes were prepared based on the former results. The influence of the membrane composition, material proportion, ion selectivity coefficients and pH to the response ability of the electrode were discussed. The experimental results shows that the electrodes exhibit almost Nemst response characteristics for Pb2+(K II), Mg2+(III), Cu2+(IV), Ca (V), Mg (VI).The linear response ranges of the electrodes based on I~VI toward the corresponding ions are 10'6~10"2mol/L(L IK FV\ VI), 10"6~10"3mol/L (III), 10"6~ 10"' mol/L (V), and the corresponding slopes are 29.1mV(I), 28.5mV(II),27.8(III),27.5(IV), 27.6(V) ,and 28.1mV/pC(VI) with corresponding coefficients of 0.9999(1), 1(11) ,0.9997 (III) ,0.9999 (IV> V) ,0.9999(VI). The electrodes have advantanges of stability, repeatability and wider pH range.
