By means of research on laser repair welding, inclusive of versus analysis of surface layer quality, microhardness and abrasive resistance, this article aims to demonstrate that laser repair welding is a preferred approach to surface consolidation that provides with good quality, high efficiency and low dilutability, and further to optimize the working range of major process parameters along with process methods that may exert an influence on structure properties of laser repair welding layer.On the basis of laser repair welding and fusion covering for the purpose of higher hardness and wearability, other methodological aids are applied to multilayer repair welding of roots blower HT200 rotor, including trial practice of cutting down on flaws and pores, addition of alloy layers in transition zone, and use of intermediate supplementary means, resulting in some success. The success of gray iron repair welding is not only of guidance significance for repair of easy-worn roots blower rotor rim bead, but of use for reference to ferrous alloy, non-ferrous alloy items as well.
