This paper expressed the characteristics of the high-carbon and high-alloy cold work die steel under the different conditions of different heat treatments and parameters, and carried on profoundly research. Firstly, we analyzed the disabled dies and obtained the reasons of the failure. Then, as far as this cold work die was concerned, we carried comprehensively research on chemical composition design, annealing technology and optimum heating treatment. In the aspects of changing in chemical composition, the adoption increased the 1#Tm-Si-Fe, Ti-Fe, V-Fe. In the aspects of anneal technology , we adopted complete annealing ,which improved obviously the mechanical performance ;as far as the heat treatment was concerned ,we adopted orthogonal regression experimental design method to seek optimum technology, and selected the three quenching temperature points(880℃,960℃,1040℃),three tempering temperature points(150℃,350℃,550℃),three temper number(one ,two, three). Through a series of experiences and investigations were finished, the microstructure, heat treatment and performance of this high-carbon and high-alloy cold work die steel are studied systematically by using metallographic, SEM, EDS and hardness analysis instrument etc. The paper elaborated the characteristics of this steel; it has lower quenching temperature and smaller heating stress and littler decarburization than other this kind steel. Through orthogonal regression experimental design method, we studied systematically the regulations of the hardness with the changing of quenching temperature and tempering temperature, and got heat treatment mathematics model under these conditions .
