As a renewable resource, biomass has been focused on as an alternative energy source of fossil fuels. China is an agricultural country and has plenty of biomass resources. Several thermochemical processes, such as gasification, liquefaction, and pyrolysis, can be used to convert this kind of resource to biofuel. In this work, we applied the liquefaction approach to five species of agricultural residues to produce liquid fuels.Direct liquefaction of five species of agricultural residues was carried out in an 250ml autoclave. During the tentative experiment, Peanut shell was tested. The influences of reaction temperature, reaction time, solvent and catalyst etc. were inverstigated. Liquefaction results of peanut shell have shown that the highest heavy oil yield and total yield can be obtained at the condition of 320-340 ℃, 10min and 1/30 (catalyst/raw material, W/W)K2CO3, when feedstock ratio is 10g material/ 100ml water.Considering the optimal liquefaction condition of peanut shell, liquefaction of other kinds of agricultural residues were conducted with and...
