Solvent adhesives and coatings were gradually regulated to used in many fields as most solvent was hazardous air pollutants and the pollution for the health, while which were of high initial bonding strength and simple application process. It was one of the most attractive subjects to develop green-solvent adhesives practically. The polyacrylates were developed by directly copolymerization in ethanol of butyl acrylate employed as soft monomer, methyl methacrylate as hard monomer, and acrylic acid and vinyl acetate as alcohol-soluble monomers. The influence of reaction conditions (such as time, temperature, amount of solvent and initiator, monomer ratio) on monomer conversion, molecular weight and its distribution of the polymers were discussed. The alcohol-solubility was evaluated on solution rate and the transparent of alcohol solution of polyacrylates. The structures were characterized by IR, GPC, NMR, and the bonding performance was measured by universal material testing machine. In the polymerization process where BPO was employed as an initiator, the molecular weight and conversion rate of monomer increased...
