Based on the radical reaction theory, it is recognized that ultra-high molecular weight HPAM should be synthesized by adopting muticomponent complex initiation system and low temperature initiation technology. In the course of the preparation of the formulation in laboratory, we have adopted low temperature adiabatic reaction in order to obtain good corresponding relation in the experiment result and industrial reactor. Most of the researches were concentrated on the investigation of the effect of the initiation temperature, concentration of the monomer, initiator, ammonia, and urea on the molecular weight and solubility. By orthogonal experiment design, the optimum parameter in acrylamide polymerization, under the condition, the molecular weight of the HPAM can reached more than 25 million.The part hydrolysis polyacrylamide of ultra high molecular weight must have appropriate hydrolysis degree in order to obtain good solubility. By analyzing the influence factors of part hydrolysis polyacrylamide, such as the dosage of hydrolytic reagent, the time of hydrolysis, the temperature of hydrolysis and the dosage of latent solvent. The optimum technology parameter of the hydrolysis was established.Rational granulation equipment and technology can be put forward, resolving preferably the dry and granulation problem of the HPAM colloid mass, we have synthesized ultra-high molecular weight polyacrylamide in industry, On the basic of the homo-polymerization, granulating, adding alkali and post hydrolysis, adjusting the condition polymerization, and the result in lab and muticomponent complex initiation system. The molecular weight of HPAM was more than 22 million and less than 1.2 in filtrating factor, which illustrated that the performance of these HPAM would be better than that of similar products imported.
