The studies of surfactant-selective membrane electrodes are of considerable interests, which can make people know the interaction between the common surfactants and the polymers. Quaternary ammonium Gemini surfactants exhibit peculiar properties because of novel molecular structures. At present, few recognition are focus on self-organization law of Gemini surfactants, however, few studies are focus on the interactions between the Gemini surfactants and the polymers with the surfactant-selective membrane electrodes. With the financial support form Nature Sciences Foundation of China (sanction: 20173010,20373012) and Fujian Province Nature Sciences Foundation of China (sanction: JB03013, the study on the preparation and properties of the quaternary ammonium cationic Gemini surfactant-selective membrane electrodes have been systematically investigated, The main results are as follows: Firstly the sodium tetraphenylborate as the electrical active compound, C12-2-C12·2Br selective membrane electrode was prepared, Over the range of 15℃~45℃, the detection limit for C12-2-C12·2Br is 1.5×10-6 mol·L-1. The concentration range of linear response and the response slope are respectively 2.5×10-6~9.0×10-4 mol·L-1 and 30.0±2 mV/decade. The membrane electrode is suitable to work in pH6~12 aqueous solutions and has good stability and repeatability during the determination. The response time is 30s.The membrane electrode is no response to C12-s-C12·2Br(s=3,4,5,6,8,12) Secondly sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate as the electrical active compound, the optimum component is confirmed by orthogonal design (the mass ration of PVC: plastic: active material is 0.9: 27.0: 72.1). C12-2-C12·2Br selective membrane electrode is prepared. Over the range of 15℃~45℃, the detection limit for C12-2-C12·2Br is 1.5×10-6 mol·L-1. The concentration range of linear response and the response slope are respectively 1.0×10-6~1.0×10-3 mol·L-1 and 30.0±2 mV/decade. The membrane electrode is suitable to work in pH6~12 aqueous solutions and has good stability and repeatability during the determination. The response time is 20s.The membrane electrode has no Nernst response to C12-s-C12·2Br(s=3,4,5,6,8,12).With the concentration of NaBr increasing, the cac of C12-2-C12·2Br decreases. These all prove the membrane electrode can be used. Because the membrane electrode with sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate as the electrical active compound has the shorter response time and long life and so on, the membrane electrode will be used in the experiments. The membrane electrode is only selective to C12-2-C12·2Br,so we use the component by orthogonal design to prepare selective membrane electrodes of C12-3-C12·2Br and C12-6-C12·2Br. The further studies will be done in the future. The membrane electrode can directly measure the cooperation isotherm, which is an important means that study the interaction between the surfactants and the polymers (poly (sodium acrylate) and (hydroxypropyl cellulose)). The curve with polymer is deviating in contrast with standard curve, with the concentration increasing. It shows the polymer is cooperating the surfactant. From the strong interaction between NaPAA, HPC and C12-2-C12·2Br,it shows cooperation interaction respectively.
