Analysis Of Fabric Slipping

The slipping property of fabrics influences the usage of fabrics significantly. The fabrics, especially the thin and loose fabrics, are easy to slip in the places of sutures and elbows when they are used as garment materials. And the hooking slipping will occur as the garments encounter sharp objects during wearing. There are different kinds of morphologies of fabric slipping. And the slipping is related to the fabric structure and the weaving resistance. The fabric structure and the weaving resistance are analysed first in this paper. And then the morphologies of fabric slipping and their token index are studied by both subjective and objective evaluation methods. For the fabrics with different colors, the relationships between the size of slippage and the visibility of human sight in different observation distantance are obtained by using the visual evaluation method. For different kinds of fabric slipping, i.e., the stitch slipping, the friction slipping, and the hooking slipping, the morphologies of fabric slippage and the principles are generally analysed by using the instrument testing method. And the relationships between the token index obtained by different kind of methods are studied. The hooking equipment is designed by ourselves in order to simulate the hooking slipping of fabrics.
