Many problems that water source is facing are caused by it quality. Photographic wastewater is a sort of the industrial wastewater. It is characterized by components, deep color index and its unstable water quality, which contaminates the water nearby seriously. The study of this paper aims to looking for a utility synthetically treatment technology to purify photographic wastewater economically, thereby settling the increasingly serious problem of water source pollution. The subject under study is aimed at purifying the photographic wastewater collected by the Chongqing Solid Waste Management Service Center. Compare with the present domestic and foreign methods of water treatment, the paper is applies the elecroflocculation sedimentation and activated carbon absorption to coping with photographic wastewater. Firstly, the contamination of photographic wastewater is wiped off by electroflocculation. Then, activated carbon absorbs the remainder contamination for the sake of the further treatment techniques. The experimenting research is being done for the purpose of looking for appropriate technical condition. The main technical parameters are determined in this paper; the simple technological process of photographic wastewater is described. The main steps are carried out as follows:â‘  while photographic is disposed by electroflocculation, current density, the paper studies how the effect of treatment is influenced by electrolytic time, charge loading, pH value, the quantity of FeSO4, aeration condition and so on. Meanwhile the mechanism of electroflocculation has been studied.â‘¡ While photographic wastewater is disposed by the activated carbon absorption as secondary treatment, the paper studies how the effect of treatment is influenced by the quantity of activated carbon, pH value, filtrating rate and so on.â‘¢ The treatment technology of photographic wastewater is discussed. According to the relevant experiments and study, the main conclusions are given asfollow:â‘  while photographic is disposed by electroflocculation, the charge loading influences the treatment result largely. The pH value and the quantity of FeSO4 also influence the treatment results.â‘¡ While the activated carbon absorption as secondary treatment disposesphotographic wastewater, the pH value and the quantity of activated carbon influence evidently the treatment results obviously.â‘¢ While photographic wastewater is disposed by electroflocculation and activated carbon absorption, if the experiment condition is controlled appropriately, the treatment of wastewater can have very favorable results. The removal rate of COD is 96%, and the removal rate of color index is 91%.
