Hydraulic support is an important equipment on comprehensive mechanized mining face, which can push conveyers and mining machines on the face, as well as support upper plates, and assure the security of working area. So characters and reliabilities of hydraulic supports are one of the critical factors which affecting mining.The four connecting rod is the extensive used hydraulic supports in domestic. While the four connecting rod has the principle deficiency in the structure which brings the production with the series of problems. So development of a new hydraulic connecting rod that avoids the deficiency of the four connecting rod and has special characteristics in the fields of "supporting "and "protecting " is satisfied the needs of production . It has the mostly important sense with improvement of the supporting and protecting on comprehensive mechanized mining face and reducing the working force of workers and increasing the economy efficiency of coal mine.Based on the reality of coal producing and against the stabilization deficiency of the hydraulic support of fourconnecting rod and the problems of low power of linking with upper plate and difficult control with hydro-electric , connecting with the characteristic of parallel structure and advanced control principle ,this subject presents the research of the parallel support which appropriate for comprehensive mechanized mining face. This paper according to the practical working condition of hydraulic support ,and with the theory analysis of the parallel support in the kinematics dynamics and mechanism ,finds the relate point of parallel structure with hydraulic support, and designs the parallel support. This paper study the detail of operate space and special site figure and rod interference and etc, especially analyze the theory of operant behavior and adaptability with the upper plate and characteristic of force transfer , and also with the laboratory test get the conclusion that the parallel structure is the most proper structure of hydraulic support and parallel support is the most support of comprehensive mechanized mining face.
