Vectical tanks are the specific equipment widely used in industry, and which are apt to have accidents. But they have two respects of capital problems, their securities and economic properties. Recently, acoustic emission (AE) testing (AET) has been widely used in in-service inspection of vectical tanks. Comparing with normal non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT) and magnetic particle testing (MT), AET has many advantages such as its dynamic property, sensitive to active defects, whole monitoring, fast and economic inspection etc. It can not only ensure the safety of vectical tanks, but also decline the time and cost of inspection. However, due to their operation in the condition of the change of environment and medium height all the year round, they inevitably suffer from various damnification and other factors. Especially corrosion perforation, crack expanding and rive and so on by chemical corrosion and electrochemistry corrosion make medium leak and cause serious disaster and environment pollution. This is a big economic loss to the state economy. Later 90 years, with the amount of big tanks increasing, the cost of repair and maintenance increase. Therefore, in order to make them work normally, it is important to take up the evaluation technology of safe detection and forecasting in vectical tanks and technology research of the dump life forecasting.Considering the problems existing in the inspection and management of tanks, this paper select the technology research of acoustic emission state detection of upstanding stanks, combing modern technology and management method, to carry out the dynamic inspection and scientific management. This will help to develop the gross profit and management level of refinery, and have important meaning and application value in reducing inspection or maintaining expense, reducing pollution, advance the safety of equipment.Making acoustic emission technology research of vectical tanks leakage adapt knowledge of hydromechanics to research theory and character of effective active sound source by analyzing detection data.Therefore the reliability of acoustic emission technology and variational rule of effective active acoustic sound source in vectical tanks are proved. Making acoustic emission technology research of vectical tanks corrosion research the range of character parameter of original and orientation signals, research their difference and variational rule of effective active sound source. These are significant to aid the actual Acoustic Emission inspection of vectical tanks.
