With the studies of co(HEA/St/BA) emulsifier-free polymerization, stable latexes of 50% solid content without emulsifier were successfully obtained. In the system, HEA not only offers hydrophilic group for the latex particles, but also play an important role in the process of forming core. NaSS has an effect on the stability of polymerization of emulsifier-free latexes, and through the TEM photos, it will be found that various content of NaSS can lead to different shapes of latex particles. In addition, the cosolvent's effect on the shapes of latexes, the agitation rate's effect on the stability of polymerization of emulsifier-free latexes, and the relation of temperature-keeping time and monomer conversion were also discussed.On the base of the preparation of high-solid co-polymer emulsifier-free latexes, as water-resistant coating, the application was studied. Such as antifreeze's effect on the stability of coating and leveling agent's effect on the capabilities of water-resistant film were primarily studied. Especially, dry-wet-cycling aging method was introduced. The tensibility of water-resistant film will decrease after 300 cycle.
