With the development of national economy, the iron and steel industry already plays an important role in the national economy development. NO.6 BF project in some steel mill is the key benefit project in the " Tenth Five-Year Plan "The blastfurnace water treatment is the important auxiliary link in the project which guarantees the blastfurnace's regular production and movement. NO.6 BF project contains five parts: Soft water preparation system, the closed loop soft water system, the clean circulation water system, throat water sprinkler system, BF gas cleaning system. The operation station monitor software RSView32?and PLC configuration software ControlLogix5550 used in the paper are both from Allen-Bradley Company. PLC configuration software realizes the functions described below: the data exchange and the data processes between master station and slave station, master station monitors the slave stations, the visibility of person machine alternately. The operation station monitor software RSView32? design several pictures such as System host picture, Synoptic production processing picture, Operation kneading board picture, Alarm reporting demonstration picture, On-line tendency chart demonstration picture and so on. The operators can easily monitor the process data, the system alarming and other production information and take measures quickly according to the pictures. According to technological requirement, the author design many kinds of function subroutine using PLC configuration software RSLogix5000.The subroutines include 10KV pumps subroutine, 3UF5 pumps starts subroutine, softly starts subroutine and electric valves controlling subroutine. The procedure structure is succinct, easy to revise and to debug facilitates. The BF closed loop soft water system is a multi-variables, non-linearity, time variable control system. The shortages of traditional PID (Proportion Integral Differential) controller are that the system's overshoot is large, regulation time is long and parameter is hard to be real-time adjusted. In order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional PID controller, the author use single neuron adaptive PID controller and achieve satisfactory stability and low overshoot.
