Based on the GIS platform and object groupwares, city environmental spatial database and attribute database about pollution source monitoring and information management of pollution source decision-making supporting system are established in the lab study for city environmental information system. The visualization of environmental pollution source of spatial increase or decrease, enquiry, statistical analysis is realized. The developing mode of environmental spatial information system is presented.Firstly, The cause and status of environmental problems are summed up, and the features of environmental information are analyzed. Then the developing trend of environmental information system is discussed, and the multi-database basic theory of EGIS is given.Secondly, The application research of environmental GIS which is based on GIS is flourishing, and the lab study of city environmental information system varies with the difference of economic status and research level, this is made out with study example in a city.Thirdly, The global engineering project of environmental information which is sponsored by UN is putting into enforcement, and the satellite earth station of messenger project and the global environment green path of net system under UNEP are established and open. Their open not only provides information supporting for environmental management and decision-making of the world countries, but also presents a path and bridge for the environmental information communication. It is necessary to unify the research mode of cities for keeping up the developing pace of international environmental GIS, and the integration mode in this paper is based on that, and I hope it can be a good reference for future similar research and application.
