Alumina is one of the most important raw materials in the world economics. With the development of national economy, the alumina industry has been only junior to the iron & steel yields in metallurgical industry. Nowadays, some new technologies about product of alumina were come forth, but the problem of too much water content in raw slurry in the sintering process is still under solved, this makes the energy consumption too much.Form the view of rheology, how does the temperature, solid content and different forms of calcium influence the rheology and the thixtropic property of raw slurry in sintering process were studied in this paper. Main study is about how the additives and surfactants to influence the theological property of raw slurry in sintering process. Results are as follows:1. Solid content has a negative influence to the fluidity of the raw slurry. With the decrease of solid content, the slurry flow more easily and the fluidity style can change from yield pseudoplatic fluid to plastic fluid, in the end, it may become approximate Newton fluid. Temperature has a positive influence to the fluidity of the raw slurry. The raw slurry has a time relied thixtropic property; it has a positive influence to the transportation of the slurry.2. Different forms of calcium compound have obvious influence to the fluidity of the raw slurry. The main reason is different forms of calcium compound have different hydration and some maybe have chemical reaction with the mother carbonization liquid.3. Different additives and surfactants can influence the fluidity ofthe raw slurry. Appropriate surfactants can improve the fluidity; the amount of addition can also influence the fluidity. The addition of the most appropriate amount R-COONa can make the raw slurry have the same fluidity with the raw slurry which has more 4 percent water content and without adding any additives.
