Considering the international developing trend of casting industry and the domestic market demand of mold casting pattern materials (mold casting waxes), this paper researched low, middle and high temperature series mold casting pattern materials, developed small and middle scale technology to produce them. With Nanyang petroleum wax as main stocks, adding various assistants, some properties such as bending strength, viscosity, linear constriction coefficient and drop melting point were measured. Via lots of experiments, we successfully developed low, middle and high temperature series casting pattern materials. Experimental results showed that all physical indexes of new products such as bending strength, surface hardness, linear constriction coefficient and ash content can meet their technological needs. Also the products have better heat resistance, coating performance, flowability and reusing property. Small and middle scale technology to produce low, middle and high temperature series casting pattern materials were developed Experimental results showed that the new technology can produce products with better quality repeatable, no "three wastes" came into being. Engineering application experiments of the low and middle temperature casting pattern materials produced by middle scale technology have been conducted, and the results showed that they have better technology stability and can meet technology requirement. The successful development of the series of casting pattern materials has momentous significance to improve the research level of multiple pattern materials of our country, and to enhance the products addition value of petroleum wax.
