Isopropylamine is an important intermediate for composing organism. It is widely used in medicine, pesticide and so on. In the long run, we have mainly adopted the process of acetone-synthesis in the product of isopropylamine. There are many faulties in this technique such as the technology being stale, the scale small, the quality poor etc. and it can't meet the need of isopropylamine. Nowadays although we have introducing the advanced technique, the product of isopropylamine only reaches 4000t/a or so. To keep the balance of the demand and supply, China still import much of it each year. The advanced technology of isopropylamine'synthesis is badly needed in China nowadays. Today there are two main ways to product isopropylamine:the one is catalyzing-hydrogenation-aminating of acetone; the other is hydrogenation-aminating-catalyzing. There are both advantages and disadvantages in each way. This article adopts the latter way comparing the two methods. In this paper we study the engineering design to separate and refine 1500t/a isopropylamine. We studied the influences of the reaction's engineering conditions on the reaction in the first part. We have introduced the devices used in this technology and analyzed this technology and the catalyst used in the reaction. The second part is about the engineering design of this way. With keeping the quality of the product under control for the capacity of 1500t/a, we discussed how to magnify this technology involving reaction & separating .In the last we investigate t the protecting of environment, safety problem and economic evaluating for magnifying the project. Through the overall study, we consider it a good way to product isopropylamine and it is worth generalizing.
