This work is a part of the technologies for clean coal, aiming at innovations inproducing synthesis-oil from liquefying coal and their industrilization. It's an urgentproblem to gain the varieties organic components from the outgrowth ofFischer-Tropsch synthesis in coal liquefaction water. The achievements of this work isessential to design an environmental and economic process for the synthesis.Firstly, an outline of separation process was proposed, by analyzing theoutgrowth in the liquefying coal water. Then a process simulation model ofdistillation columns was built and run, by using Aspen Plus's software. Optimalrunning parameters were obtained by adjusting the conditions of the distillationcolumns in the simulation model. Finally the experiments' operating data werecompared with calculating results. The reliability of the models were proved. It can beused in designing and guidance the practise. This paper concerns three distillation columns: vacuum distillation, azeotropicdistillation and interim distillation. Experiments and simulations have been finished asfollows: (1) the vacuum distillation column: the top composition of the column is themixture of acid and water, but the bottom is extractive solvent. The column is 27theory stages and the 12th is a feed stage. The running parameters are: reflux rate 0.5,feed rate 5.9 ml/min, operating vacuum pressure 8.0×104Pa and D/F 0.150;(2) theinterim distillation column: the top composition is a solvent and water, the bottom isthe mixture of acid. The column involves 25 theory stages. (3) the distillation column:it's only simulated for simple process and achieved the operating parameters. This paper also presents that the experiment results are appropriate to the modelsimulation accepted by using ASPEN PLUS 10.2 software in the distillation columns.
