The following paper summarizes the applications of musk tibetene. The paperstudies a process, which can be used to produces musk tibetene from C9 aromatics.The technique that uses isobutene as alkylation reagent has many advantages, suchas simple procedure, shorter reaction period, cheaper raw material, higher yield,etc. So the process had good prospect for industrializationThis process for prepariation of musk tibetene using mixture of C9 heavyaromatics was proposed and researched experimentally. The influence of reaction time,reaction temperature and molar ratio etc. on the product yield was evaluated. Anoptimum operation conditions for synthesis and purification of musk tibetene wasfound as follows: the mass ratio of catalyst to 1,2,3-trimethybenzene was 3%(w),reaction temperature about 10℃, reaction time was 3h, with nitro-sulfuric acid asnitration agent, reaction temperature was 20℃-70℃, and reaction time 4h. Musktibetene was purified by recrystallization with 95% alcohol. The composition ofproduct was analyzed by HPLC. Through melting point test, elementary analysis,NMR and FTIR, the constitutional formu of product was proved to be musk tibetene.The reaction mechanism of alkylation that isobutene participate in is alsodiscussed, which can be used to produce musk tibetene...
