This subject is about thermal deformation error detection and compensation of an YKX3132G six axes CNC gear-hobber machine's worktable in X axis direction. And the error is generated during the process of the machine producing. Under the condition of structure and performance of Machine Tool can not be changed. We must design a real-time detection and compensation system. Thus two solutions on this problem are given is the paper. And ultimately we have chosen a more useful solution.First we give an analysis of thermal deformation on the whole machine. Based on structure of CNC gear-hobber, we get a simplified model of the machine. Using knowledge of thermodynamic, we get a relationship of the thermal deformation of machine tools and the relative position between cutter and work piece. According to theoretical analysis, the authors designed two error detection and compensation systems that based on microcontroller and PCI data acquisition card with the current experiment conditions.This article has also made the detailed introduction in the signal gain and the signal processing. The system effectively eliminated disturbance factor and noise signal by the filter circuit processing. Thus has safeguarded the system precision.A microcontroller with IT assembly line/reduced instruction set structure has been used in the error detection and compensation system that based on microcontroller. So the processing speed has been largely enhanced than using an ordinary 8051 microcontroller. And the microcontroller has integrated 8 channels 8 bit ADC. Therefore using this microcontroller can greatly simplify the hardware design. The error detection and compensation systems that based on PCI data acquisition card display a bad real-time characteristic in experimentation. But this system can be a reference for those places that need not good real-time characteristics.By experiments and simulations, it has been found that the system may enhance the processing precision in a certain degree. But it still needs further study andimprovement.
