The current researching of catalytic partial oxidation of methane to methanol at home and abroad was reviewed .The process of partial oxidation of methane to methanol in mixed solvent, HPA (heteropoly acid) and acetic acid, was studied firstly. It is found that the new mixed solvent can instead of fuming sulphuric acid to avoid the problem of equipment corrosion. The optimum catalyst and oxidant was selected and transferred the reaction from liquid phase to gas-solid phase successfully. The optimum catalyst preparation, catalyst, liquid solvent, oxidant, reaction process condition was selected. Thermodynamic analysis on the reaction system was carried out.In the liquid phase, the effect of oxidation,. catalyst , solvent was studied respectedly. It is found that when phosphotungstic acid dissolved in acetic acid as the new solvent, I2 as catalyst, KMnO4 as oxidant, methane conversion was 53% and product yield was 51.34%.In the gas-solid phase, it is found H5MgPW12O40/SiO2 was optium catalyst, immersion time was 4h, catalyst drying-time was 2h and drying-temperature was 120 °C, catalyst calcinations-time was 4h and calcination-temperature was 300 °C, catalyst induction period was 3h, liquid reagent was acetic acid. In the selected situation, methane conversion was 30.43% and product yield was 27.66%.In the study of catalytic mechanism, free radical mechanism was denied by the result of the experiment, and the electrophilic alternative mechanism was suggested.
