China is traditionally a mechanical manufacturing big country, but its equipment level falls behind, especially for that some old machinery manufactures still have out-dated tool machines which are beyond the processing requirements. As for current situation of manufacturing industry' s technology, it is the trend to reform and promote the traditional manufacturing equipments with modern technology. The topic is to carry out numerical control reform towards two discarded C616 Lathes. Through which people can seek out a viable and valuable-to-expand technical equipments reform methods so that it can solve the problems owing to the out-dated equipments and promote the traditional mechanical manufacturing equipments.During the research, it is the first step to carry on the overall inquisition and analysis to the normal CNC lathes currently used in factories. It is common that NC equipments has such shortcoming in limited distance protection and malfunctions easily happen. On the other hand, CNC lathes usually can produce in multiple brands or sing-brand but in mass production. Therefore it is very trivial to program and input and adjust for each part. Customers need to find out one way to simplify the process to promote processing efficiency.As for the above-mentioned problems, the research puts forward to turn all circuit protection into negative logic control and has carried out theory analysis and practice. Its actual application obtained good result so that technique has already applied for the national invention patent.According to the characteristics of CNC lathes process mission, the types of parts can be divided into stalk, set and dish. We put forward to compose craft in its accordance groups, on the base of craft technology theory in groups, then compose numerical grogram then put them into PC so that it is fast to finish instant programming in order to promote processing efficiency. Through this way, the small quantityproduction can be turned into mass production. Owing to that, it can promote efficiency effectively and lower the requirements of operators. Right now this technology is applying for national invention patent. After completion of numerical control reformation of the two C616 lathes they have been putting into practice for two years and the operation is very good. Furthermore its actual application signals that various function index in accordance with the design requirements. This research has passed the authentication by Deyang Science and Technology Department. Their opinion is the following:The research has completed the numerical control reform of two discarded ordinary C616 lathes and their devotion usage signals that all the function indexes satisfy the design requirements. And during the process of reform all the limited distance protection are turned into negative logic control at the same time use the theory of craft technology in groups to compose imitate program then put them into PC. Through which it is fast to complete programming therefore it promotes efficiency effectively. The technology level in this research comes to advanced level in China.
