Enzymes have several advantages, such as high efficiency, only catalyzing areaction with specific bonds or substrates, mild temperature and pH conditions. Theeffluent of the enzymatic treatment can be easily biodegraded and does not pose anenvironment threat. This is an important way to realize producing high quality textileproducts and having friendly environment with Bio-enzymatic pretreatment replacingthe conventional alkaline scouring.According to the component of flax and cotton, pectinases, cellulases, xylanasesand laccases were selected out for scouring of linen cotton fabric. Considering thewhiteness index, wetting property of the treated fabric and content of impurity, wefixed on a bio-enzymatic pretreatment rolling process: enzymatic desizing →enzymatic scouring → treatment before bleaching → bleaching →bleaching onlinen cotton fabric. We have researched the effecting factor of the pretreatment, suchas the concentration of reaction solution, the temperature of the steam, the time, etc.,and the best conditions were selected at last. Finally, the enzymatic scoured linen cotton fabrics are tested for fabric strength. It seems that the enzymatic method taking place of the conventional way is feasible. The process of bio-enzymatic pretreatment on linen cotton fabric is shorter thanthe conventional pretreatment, so that the efficiency of equipment can be promoted, and the energy can be saved. More interesting, the bio-enzymatic pretreatment, inwhich alkaline and chlorine are absent, creates good conditions for realizing greendyeing and finishing.
