Studies on settling of mineral processing wastewater and water quality assessment at Fankou MineTo provide necessary technological support for the project of Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Processing Wastewater at Fankou Mine, experimental studies are done on the settling equipments choosing to clarify the wastewater, i.e., to deposit suspended solid substance in it. According to the peculiar way of wastewater outputting, settling experiments are conducted with zinc tailing and its overflow and ground wastewater in order to make it usable resource for producing. Also this paper can provide some basic studies on ways dealing with mineral processing wastewaterResearches shows that wastewater at Fankou Mine mainly origin from mineral processing drainage and ground cleaning, the former also including processing drainage and overflow from zinc tailing. By the way, investigations tell that the weight of wastewater at Fankou Mine can be as more as 7.5 million tons per year.Pollution classification at Fankou Mine is up to level of GB-6, in another word, serious pollution, and main pollution consist of sulfide, lead ion, high level of potassium permanganate and acid, thus some necessary processing should be conducted before discharging. During this course, PAM(10-40g/d) is added as flocculant to accelerate settling speed, while ordinary cleaner alum can't.Water quality assessments make it clear that naturally depositing water do no harm to the flotation targets, excluding that from sulfide tailing. As to that from ground cleaning, effects sometimes may be visible.
