Sheet metal forming is a widely used pressure manufacturing method. The design and manufacture of mold depend on the engineers′experience sometimes and the mold must be often modified. The sheet forming process simulation technology can simulate the process and forecast the design limitations. So efficiency is improved , time is saved and cost is reduced. A elastic-plastic finite element method and LS-DYNA is used in this article ,and numerical simulation models concerned with Wugang sheet forming experiments are established. Models with different parameters and dimension are simulated and compared with experiments results, and the calculating models and method can be proved to be believable. A benchmark is used as experiment result at the same time, and the calculating method is proved further. Pertinence between relevant parameters and forming performance is analyzed quantificationally. On this base ,a complicated model is established and simulated with the results of forming ,springback and analysis. A computer aided analysis system is developed with the Visual Basic language and APDL language for Wugang sheet forming process ,and the system can be used as a numerical simulation platform for the forming experiment equipments. Concise interfaces are offered in the platform and only the relevant parameters are needed to be input, and the results of the sheet forming process can be gotten, like the Forming Limit Diagrams and so on. A optimization of the blank holder force is carried to supply the recommended values for experiments and on this base more complicated optimization functions can be developed.
