Sheet metal forming is an important forming method in metal forming field, plays an important role in the manufacturing industry. Simulating the sheet metal forming process numerically , the distribution of stress, strain and thickness after forming can be analyzed, and the spiltting, wrinkling, buckling and spring back can be predicted. Finite element simulation offers scientific tool for parameters optimization of punch process and mould design, and then reduce R&D and debugging time in die design.Analysing and summarizing the process method of sheet metal forming numerical simulation, the key technology of the numerical simulation of the sheet metal forming has been generalized, such as the geometry model of mould setting up,element type choice,establishment of material model and theory and arithmetic of contact and friction, etc.The application of numerical simulation technology in punch process and mould design has been researched, and the mechanics mechanism of spring back after unloading[0] has been discussed. The factors infecting spring back, including material characteristic, friction coefficient, thickness, etc has been discussed, and found that reducing spring back, the parts'precision in the process of spring back compensation for design of tools improved. The roughcast's formal size by FEM reverse simulation method has been discussed detailedly, such as the decision of initial value, calculation of stress and strain, decision of boundary condition, solution of basic relation equation, and revision of roughcast's formal size.[0] The simulation and application of draw bead in the sheet metal forming has been studied, like the draw bead mechanism, equivalent model, decision of restriction resistance, disposal principle, etc .[0]Using the ANSYS internal developing tool APDL,UIDL, the analyse and forecast special module of sheet metal forming has been developed in this paper, user can simply input parameter to automatically partition gridding the initial design model, set process parameter, get the needed engineering data of stress, strain, and thickness changed.[0]...
