The principle of photocatalysis of TiO2 and its hydrophilic and ultra- hydrophilic nature are systematically investigated in the essay. The effects of organic sensitization and inorganic modify on the photocatalysed property of the photocatalyst TiO2 are also represented. Our researches focus on the metal phthalocyanin sensitizated and nitrogen doped TiO2 to explore novel photocatalyst for practical applications. The pure metal phthalocyanin solution dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) was prepared by the metal phthalocyanin sensitizated TiO2 film and DMSO solvent, which has been testified by elementary analysis, NMR and UV-Vis analytical method. The metal phthalocyanin sensitizated TiO2 thin film was fabricated through sol-gel, drawing and dipping of organic dye methods. We investigated the photocatalysed properties and electron transportation of the dicaryon metal phthalocyanin sensitizated TiO2 in the present work, and compared the results with that of metal phthalocyanin sensitizated TiO2. It is convenient to use above-mentioned methods to prepare various kinds of TiO2 thin films, and the photocatalysis of dicaryon metal phthalocyanin sensitizated TiO2 is probably arise from the electron mobility of two centered ions in the dicaryon structure. Moreover, we prepared TiO2 thin films by sol-gel method, and the films were annealed in nitrogen atmosphere to fabricate TiO2-xNx thin films. The TiO2 thin films were prepared at 180℃, 400℃ and 500℃, and then annealed in nitrogen atmosphere at 400℃, 500℃ and 600℃ separately. In order to evaluate the utilization ratio of the TiO2-xNx thin films, we investigated the photocatalysed degradation of the samples by filtering the visible light that wavelength less than 450nm. With the increasing concentration of nitrogen, the photocatalysis efficiency of the samples increases firstly and then decreases. The optimal photocatalysed properties were obtained by presintering at 500℃ and annealing in nitrogen atmosphere at 600℃.
