The flameproof electric apparatus enclosure for coal mine can effectively undertakes interior explosion pressure and can also prevent from explosion of exterior explosive environment caused by high temperature produced by interior explosion. The flameproof electric apparatus enclosure for coal mine is a closed rectangular box consisted of six boards with different thickness. At present, the stress and deformation calculation of this enclosure is based on elastic small deflection theory and design handbook before drawing its structural blueprint manually. This design method is conservative and low efficiency. In order to improve the quality of design and shorten the period of design, this paper has carried out deep research on strength and parametrization design of flameproof electric apparatus enclosure for coal mine.The actual test and forced condition of flameproof electric apparatus enclosure for coal is analysed. The calculation loading for strength analysis is determined. The permitted deformation of explosion isolated electric case is put forward referring to relative standards and data. It is made clear that small plasticity deformations are allowed for the side boards of this enclosure except its cover and flange on the connection surface where only elastic deformation is allowed, in order to make use of material efficiently, lower the weight of equipment as well as cut back cost.The stress and deformation of cover and flange of this enclosure under given working condition are calculated using elastic small deflection theory, and their thickness is defined. The maximum carrying capacity and inner stress distribution on the side boards of this enclosure under given working condition are analysed via elasto-plasticity theory, in order to determine whether it is within the permitted value.Finite element analysis is carried out for the enclosure by means of ANSYS software, the structural deformation and stress distribution under elastic condition are calculated, to validate the solution from elastic small deflection theory. On the basis of ANSYS, an APDL parametrization program is developed for increasing efficiency. A discussion about the calculating results is done, and suggestion about structure improvement of this enclosure is put forward.According to above strength and stiffness analysis results, the wall thickness of this enclosure is defined, and the reasonable number and dimension of connecting bolts for this enclosure are given. Finally, based on AutoCAD, a parametrization plot program for this enclosure is developed.
